The
apartment “Infernaccio” takes its name from the ravine gorge
which it looks out at.
This spectacular group of fractures in the calcarious rock of the
Val d’Abisso was the result of a disastrous earthquake which hit
Piobbico and Monte Nerone in 1456, hence the names reminiscent of
Dante’s Inferno! It is the oldest part of the house; built by the
Brancaleoni counts in the 1500s, and was in fact used as a hunting lodge.
In time it became a farmhouse and still today at the entrance under the
loggia there is the old wood oven, where the peasants baked their bread.
Today it is made up of a large living room, elegantly furnished
where the majestic fireplace stands out with details in worked travertine,
2 comfortable bedrooms, a fully equipped and well-lit kitchen, an
attractive bathroom with shower and a practical washroom.
